Taking a walk is one of the best ways to clear your head, and get moving. In fact, I like to take my dogs for a walk around a nearby lake every chance I get. They love it and the fresh air feels so good now that Fall is coming. Did you know we have MANY walking trails and paths around the OKC Metro? If not, no worries. I’ve got you covered with my list of OKC Metro’s Best Walking Trails!

They are NOT all the same
While I enjoy all of these walking trails, they are all very different. Those around lakes provide great opportunities to run and bike on pavement. Some of the others are much more secluded and may require more skilled bikers. However, all are great for walking and that’s what this blog is all about, right?!
As Fall gets into full swing you can expect some of these walking trails to be busier that others and more congested, especially those around lakes. The Lake Hefner trails for example are very busy from Fridays through Sundays.
If possible with your schedule, I would recommend those trails during week days. They tend not to be so crowed Monday through Thursday.
Other Outdoor Adventures
Fortunately the OKC Metro area is pretty massive. That gives us all plenty of room to “spread our wings.” Especially when it comes to walking trails.
